Jennifer Lonas
Jennifer’s twenty-year adventure in publishing has
followed a somewhat unique path. While pursuing a career in linguistics and
translation with Wycliffe Bible Translators, she was drawn into publishing
through a part-time job as a paste-up artist and lithography tech. During her
eleven-year sojourn in Wycliffe, Jennifer gained valuable publishing experience
as a desktop-publishing specialist in Dallas and Burkina Faso, West Africa, and
later as a project coordinator. Along the way, she brushed up her French in
Switzerland and published a quarterly newsletter that enabled her to sharpen
her creative writing and editing skills.
In 1999, Jennifer
embarked on a new adventure with WaterBrook Press, first as an editorial
assistant and then as a production editor, shepherding more than two hundred
trade publications through the final stages of editing and proofreading. At
WaterBrook, Jennifer distinguished herself as a hard-working, detail-oriented
editor, earning a reputation for quality and dedication among authors and colleagues.
Going solo in 2006, Jennifer launched Refiner’s Touch Editorial
Services, a name that reflects her passion for excellence and her love for the
written word. She works primarily with Christian publishers and authors,
offering expertise in book doctoring, content and line editing, copyediting,
and proofreading for nonfiction and fiction trade publications. Jennifer
invests herself wholeheartedly in any endeavor she undertakes, striving to provide
authors with the kind of quality editing that will make their message shine.
When Jennifer isn’t editing, she enjoys soaking in the rugged
beauty of Colorado.
