Carol Reid

Proofreader, Writer

arol has worked for Integrity Publishers, Thomas Nelson Publishing House, and Harper Collins as a freelance proofreader for all kinds of books—Bible reference, non-fiction trade, biographies, devotional, Christian living, fiction, and gift books. She really has to struggle in church when worship songs are projected without any punctuation! As a college librarian, she has proofread hundreds of term papers and a few faculty dissertations. She meticulously checks scripture quotations with a strong respect for God’s Word and often finds it helpful to consult with her Bible-scholar husband, Garnett, who has taught both Hebrew and Greek.

Carol has published articles in The Christian Librarian and a variety of denominational publications, including One Magazine, Fusion, Together with God, Treasure, and others. She has written Sunday school curriculum and recently been part of developing a nursery curriculum—sharing her passion for teaching infants about Jesus. She teaches the nine- to eighteen-month-olds at The Donelson Fellowship, in Nashville, Tennessee, where Garnett serves on staff as pastor of senior adults. With a Master’s degree in library science from Vanderbilt University, Carol has been a solo librarian and taught Children’s Literature at Welch College since 1988.

The Reids have two married sons, two lovely daughters-in-law, and three red-headed grandchildren. Carol loves to quilt (when she can find time) and delights in finding bargains.
