Darcie Robertson

Developmental Editor, Copy Editor, Proofreader

Darcie Robertson is a freelance editor who loves partnering with authors and publishers to transform a rough draft into an excellent finished product. She worked in-house at Thomas Nelson publishers for three years, editing and managing backlist projects spanning all genres: fiction, nonfiction, history, cookbooks, and gift books. An outside vendor described her as “sweet and efficient.”

Darcie then moved to Dave Ramsey’s organization for five years and edited everything with words on it: books, curriculum, website copy, web articles, marketing copy, digital magazines, and more. As the first in-house editor for

the company, she was credited  with “forever changing the content standard.” She was the main editor for Jon Acuff’s books Quitter (Wall Street Journal bestseller) and Start (New York Times bestseller) and worked on multiple Dave Ramsey titles, including the New York Times bestseller EntreLeadership.

Ever the learner and lover of variety, Darcie made the leap to freelance in early 2014. Since then she’s been proud to work with NATIVE magazine, author and pastor Carey Nieuwhof, various Thomas Nelson authors, and other Christian publishers. Specializing in developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading, she enjoys working on books of all genres as well as magazines, web content, and curriculum.

Darcie obtained a bachelor’s in English from Belmont University and continued her education with a creative nonfiction course at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and editing courses at University of Chicago. When Darcie doesn’t have her nose in a book, she loves to explore Nashville’s many great restaurants and coffee shops, watch documentaries, and hike with her retired racing Greyhound named Trapper.
