With nearly four decades of experience in administrative support roles, Julie Dobie has developed a sharp eye for errors in the written word. The majority of her work has been with attorneys at top law firms around the country, where absolute accuracy in legal documents and pleadings is required.
Julie continues to hone her skills by attending Christian Proofreaders and Editors Network classes and has earned a Certified Administrative Professional certification through the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
When her husband retired recently from pastoring the church they started twenty-five years ago, Julie also stepped down from her role as worship leader and pianist. Seeking a new avenue to serve the body of Christ, Julie started her freelance business, offering proofreading, transcription, and word processing services. She has enjoyed proofreading for Moody Publishers and is excited to work with other Christian authors and publishers, with perhaps a few lawyers thrown in as well.
While Julie’s professional life is filled with satisfying legal work and ongoing education, her home life is also full of loving family and a plethora of interests. Julie and her husband, Ron, have three children and three grandchildren, all of whom live outside of Wisconsin, necessitating many trips to see them. Julie fills her leisure time with walking, sewing, knitting, cooking, and reading (of course!), as well as with cheering for her Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Brewers.
