Karen L. Williams
Proofreader, Copy Editor
Karen's keen eye has scanned untold volumes of ministry-related resources for more than 20 years as the proofreader at Hope For The Heart. Its founder, June Hunt, is a highly respected Christian author, speaker, and musician. Karen played an integral role in the development, updating, and proofing of Hunt's landmark 100-topic Biblical Counseling Library, which remains the foundation of all the ministry's resources in the United States and internationally.
As the "last eyes" for all things published through the ministry, Karen honed her proofreading skills and secured the confidence of coworkers and management, holding the position of ministry proofreader for over two decades. She proofed not only for consistency, grammar, and style, but also for biblical accuracy and readability. Her far-reaching experiences include ministry correspondence, social media, articles for The Christian Post magazine, study guides, teaching letters, PowerPoint presentations, conference materials, biblical resources, employee handbooks, donor development correspondence, radio broadcast communication, numerous galley copies of trade books authored and co-authored by June Hunt:

Proficient in the Chicago Manual of Style and the Associated Press Stylebook, Karen has an acute awareness of the rules and exceptions and stays informed of updates in industry styles and standards. She also respects and incorporates individual writer or publisher preferences to maintain the author's voice and personal style.
Karen is highly organized and maintains excellent time management skills. She believes that quality control is vital in protecting the sacred trust between the reader and the author. When the bar is set high, the author is respecting the reader . . . and the reader, in turn, builds a foundation of confidence in the author, expecting continued excellence in the author's future work.
Karen and her husband, Dick, have been married 45 years and enjoy living in peaceful Glen Rose, Texas, along with their horse, two dogs, and four cats. Karen is an avid Texas sports fan—especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.
