Laura Weller

Editor and Proofreader of Nonfiction and Fiction

Laura Weller’s passion for editing was kindled when she was chosen as editor of her junior high newspaper, and the fire is still burning. Over the past thirty-eight years, working as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader, Laura has worked on more than three thousand manuscripts.

Laura feels privileged to have edited and proofed books for a number of Christian publishers over the years, including HarperCollins Christian Publishing (Zondervan and Thomas Nelson),  the Alban Institute, AMG, Augsburg Fortress, Baker Publishing Group, Barbour Publishing, InterVarsity Press, Judson Press, Discovery House, Charisma House, and Wm. B. Eerdmans, among others.

As a “jack of all genres,” Laura enjoys working on reference books, Bibles, trade books, adult and juvenile fiction, curricula, gift books, children’s books, and even an occasional cookbook (for which she sometimes feels compelled to try out recipes just to make sure they’re right!).

Some of the more popular authors whose books Laura has edited or proofed include Max Lucado, John Eldredge, John Ortberg, Jim Cymbala, Gordon MacDonald, Charles Swindoll, Rick Warren, Ravi Zacharias, John MacArthur, Norman Geisler, Bill Hybels, Mark Mittelberg, Beth Wiseman, Colleen Coble, Lis Wiehl, Erin Healy, Gilbert Morris, and Robert Whitlow.

Ministry to residents in an assisted living home is another of Laura’s passions. She enjoys the challenge of crafting sermons to keep her senior congregation engaged during worship services.

On wintry Michigan days, Laura’s fuzzy keeshond, Sunny, keeps her feet warm under her desk.
