Melanie A. Martin

Proofreader, Technical Writer,

Marketing Writer, Editor

Melanie has been a freelance writer and editor since 2000, operating out of her office in North Texas. She has served as a ghostwriter in addition to editing manuscripts for several Christian authors. She has also written and edited content for websites and social media venues. She was first published in a Christian magazine in 1985.

     As a former writer and editor in the corporate arena, Melanie served in both marketing writing and technical writing roles. As a writer of corporate communications, she wrote newsletter articles and press releases for her boss, Ross Perot Sr. She also wrote, edited, and 

managed the production of award-winning business proposals to companies such as Avon, Hitachi, General Motors, The Washington Post, and The New York Times. During this time, she was nicknamed “eagle eye” for her strong editing expertise—from content design to copywriting to copyediting. She has written compelling messages for advertising and marketing campaigns as well as for executive speeches and scripts.

     As an instructional designer, Melanie has developed trainings for both instructors and students, including instructional job aids. Melanie is adept in Information Mapping, a methodology for developing policies, processes, and procedures.

     Recently Melanie has served as the curriculum editor for Students Standing Strong, editing Bible-based curriculum geared toward middle and high school students. She has also developed Bible study materials for adults. She is currently compiling a women’s daily devotional book.

     Melanie has led Bible studies, served as a Sunday school class prayer leader and has enjoyed numerous short-term mission trips to Mexico. She is an adoptive mom of three and a former foster mom for the State of Texas. As a foster mom, she enjoyed nurturing sixteen little girls who lived in her home over a five-year period.
