Paul Brinkerhoff has made it his mission to serve authors, publishers, readers, and the Lord as an excellent nonfiction trade and academic book editor. 


Paul’s aim is to help you produce excellent publications. He has a diplomatic and constructive reputation with authors, and is known for his positive can-do attitude and encouragement as a team player. His project experience ranges from trade and academic titles, Bible commentaries, journal articles, and doctoral dissertations to devotionals, audio books and Bibles, video lectures, curriculum, and more. Paul’s specialties include trade and academic manuscript editing, video lecture graphics proofing, devotional content editing, and theological review.


Paul collaborates with authors, fellow editors, and various publishers including Baker Academic, The Bavinck Institute, Chosen People Ministries, Christian’s Library Press (Acton Institute), Chrysalis International, Credo House Publishers, David C Cook, HarperCollins Christian Publishing (Zondervan Academic), Kregel Academic and Ministry, Mayflower Publishing (London), Moody Publishers, Myrtlefield House (Belfast), Our Daily Bread Publishing, Our Savior’s Church (Lafayette, LA), Reformation Heritage Books, Standard Publishing, and Words of Hope. He also assists self-publishing authors, non-profit organizations, and local businesses.


Paul’s career experience includes editorial positions at Baker Publishing Group, Christian Schools International, HarperCollins (Zondervan), LIFE International, Our Daily Bread Ministries (devotional), Our Daily Bread Publishing (books), and Words of Hope (devotional, books).


After completing undergraduate studies in elementary education (BA) at Michigan State University, Paul later earned a Master of Divinity (MDiv) at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary as part of his preparation to serve the Lord and his church in the world of publishing. He has served as an adjunct professor at his seminary alma mater and occasional visiting speaker for the publishing program at Cornerstone University. Other training received includes Ted and Andrew Kallman’s project management for non-profits seminar, TrueFace’s High Trust Leader Course, and Media Associates International (MAI) seminars. In addition to serving on the team of contractors for Creative Enterprises Studio, he is a member of The Christian PEN: Proofreaders and Editors Network.


Paul’s editing and consulting business, Grace and Truth Communications LLC, was selected by the Grand Rapids Award Program to receive the 2020 Grand Rapids Award for Editorial Service, an annual award focused on quality service to customers and community. Paul and his wife, Beth, and their five children live in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
