Robert Hand

Copyediting, Developmental Editing, Proofreading

Robert has worked in the publishing industry for over ten years in a variety of editorial capacities for both trade and academic markets. He has extensive experience in all levels of the editorial process, including editorial and production management, project management, developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading.

Most recently, he was an in-house project editor at Baker Publishing Group, where he worked for the Baker Books, Baker Academic, and Brazos Press imprints. A few of the authors he had the privilege of working with there include Miroslav Volf, Ron Sider, Michael Horton, and Millard Erickson. He has also worked as a freelance editor for a variety of other publishers, including Abingdon Press, InterVarsity Press, Wipf & Stock, and Baker Publishing Group. He now works full time as an independent contractor.

Robert’s formal education has been devoted to both English and theology alike. He received formal editorial training through the University of California Berkeley’s Professional Sequence in Editing and continues to pursue his theological education as a part-time student in Calvin Theological Seminary’s Ph.D. program. While he has extensive experience with academic works, he is equally capable with trade titles and has a unique sensitivity to the needs of broad readerships.
