Editing and writing are the passions and tools of Sue's professional life.
As Features Editor of The Grand Rapids Press for twenty-five years, a freelance columnist for five, and now as a freelance editor and writer, she has a reputation for producing high-quality work on deadline and ensuring stories are accurate in every detail.
She taught editing at Michigan State University and has worked in publishing since she graduated from MSU with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
A cancer diagnosis in 2009 changed her professional trajectory. After treatment produced a complete remission,
she created, researched, organized and wrote a column called “Living with Cancer.” It appeared weekly in The Grand Rapids Press and on mlive.com for five years.
She is experienced with web content through her work for The Cancer Consortium of West Michigan and Gilda’s Club of Grand Rapids, the local chapter of a national cancer support network.
She lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
