Thomas Williams

Author, Collaborator/Editor, Art Director

Thomas Williams wears three hats in his association with Christian publishers. He is an author, collaborator/editor, and art director. He has written thirteen books of his own—fiction and non-fiction—including three co-written with Josh McDowell, one with Michael W. Smith, and his own number 2 ECPA/CBA bestseller. His books have been published by Zondervan, Word, Thomas Nelson, Tyndale, Baker, Contemporary Drama Service, and Lillenas. He is a C. S. Lewis “nut” and has written three books on Narnia, one reviewed in Christianity Today as one of the best new books on C. S. Lewis.

Tom has worked as a “ghostwriter” or collaborator and editor for over ten years, completing over forty projects. His clients have included authors such as David Jeremiah, Josh McDowell, Stephen Arterburn, Gary Smalley, John Townsend, Henry Cloud, Beth Moore, Davis Bunn, Tim Kimmel, Les and Leslie Parrot, and Charles Colson. His specialties are collaborative writing, manuscript doctoring, and content editing for Christian-oriented books, both fiction and non-fiction.

Tom spent twelve years as an independent illustrator/designer specializing in book covers for Christian publishers. He left freelancing for Word Publishing, where he spent fourteen years as executive art director. He has designed, illustrated, or art directed more than 2,000 book covers and won CBA’s best book jacket award five times. His portrait of Lewis hangs in the Wade Center at Wheaton College.
