Tina Jacobson
The Barnabas
Agency

Tina Jacobson has never been one to back away from a challenge, no matter the setting. Her insatiable appetite for adventure has led her through careers in a variety of fields and built one of the quirkiest resumes you are likely to read.

A native of Louisiana, Tina earned degrees in both geology and business marketing from Centenary College. She spent four years working as a geologist, drilling oil wells in Texas and Oklahoma, until the industry hit some hard times and she was forced to explore a change in employment.

In 1985 she left the oil business to serve for two and a half years as media coordinator for Probe Ministries, where she worked for nationally known author and speaker Kerby Anderson. Tina marketed and produced an impressive slate of programs: Probe, a daily five-minute program, News Talk, Kerby’s two-hour nightly talk show, Point of View and Minirth & Meier. She also did research, wrote articles and was a contributing author for several books. When she married a young attorney, her financial support tapered off and she found herself, once again, contemplating a career change.

In 1987, Tina was approached by a publicist from Word Publishing with a request to manage a radio tour for Chuck Swindoll and his newest book. Tina eagerly took the job, transformed her home into a base of operations and The B & B Media Group was born. The company continued to operate from Tina’s home for the first ten years, allowing her to spend more time with her young children. Since then, the firm has relocated to a charmingly restored historical property in downtown Corsicana, Texas, about sixty miles from Dallas.

Through this publicity firm and The Barnabas Agency, the firm’s public relations and personal management arm, Tina and her staff have represented such recognized authors as: Herschel Walker, Leigh Ann and Sean Tuohy, Jordan S. Rubin, Lisa Beamer, Bruce Wilkinson, George Barna, Dr. Charles Stanley, John C. Maxwell, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Mary Lou Retton, Sandi Patty, G.P. Taylor, Stephen Arterburn, Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye, Ed Gungor, Chuck Swindoll, Lorraine Pintus and Linda Dillow, Dennis Rainey, Barbara Rainey, Thelma Wells, Patsy Clairmont, Sheila Walsh, James Dobson, Beth Moore, and a host of others.

Tina has developed strong relationships with publishers such as Thomas Nelson, Zondervan, Tyndale, WaterBrook, Multnomah, NavPress, Crossway, Kregel, Broadman & Holman, David C. Cook, Authentic, STL, Moody, Simon & Schuster, Penguin, Random House, HarperSanFrancisco, HarperCollins and Basic Books. Beyond publishing, Tina and her staff work with organizations such as Ethnographic Media, Feed the Children and it’s founder, Hopegivers International, World Vision, The Todd M. Beamer Foundation, Face the Fire with Lt. Col. (ret.) Brian and Mel Birdwell, Operation Gratitude, and Urban Ministries International.

Tina is married to Terry, a successful attorney in Corsicana, and is the mother of three children, Abigail, Taylor, and Madeline. She has served as a board member with VOICE. as well as the vice president of the board of directors of Corsicana Christian Academy. She has also served two years as president of the board of directors for the Pregnancy Counseling Center of Navarro County and continues to support the Hope Center in various capacities.

In her professional career, Tina is a member of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, the National Religious Broadcasters Association and the Christian Booksellers Association. She has served as a board member of Global Publishers Associations and on various committees for these organizations.

Tina and her family are enthusiastically involved in their church, where Terry serves as an elder and occasionally brings the sermon, and Tina leads the worship team. She also loves dachshunds and taking trips to Whole Foods with her youngest daughter, Madeline. Tina and Terry are avid scuba divers, who intend to escape to Cozumel or some other tropical locale as often as possible when their nest has emptied.
