Whitney Bak

Writer, editor, proofreader

Whitney Bak is a blogger, copywriter, and freelance editor. She earned her B.A. in English Literature and Writing from Bethel University and has since used those skills to cultivate a love affair with the written word and publishing industry. Since 2015 she has worked as a content marketer for publishing houses like 1517 Media, universities, and marketing firms—generating leads for these organizations through the production of email campaign content, social media content, news articles, blogs, and white papers.

Concurrently, since 2014 she has gained experience as a macro editor, line editor, and proofreader, working for a number of publishing houses, as well as businesses and individuals. She has worked most frequently with Worthy Publishing, a Christian publishing house located in Tennessee, as a proofreader on books written by bestselling authors, including Jerry B. Jenkins and Don Colbert, and music artists Matthew West and Joel and Luke Smallbone. Recently, she has begun to combine her editorial publishing experience and extensive writing background to expand into the field ghostwriting and has found immense satisfaction in helping authors bring their own words and visions to life. In 2018 she was approved to begin freelance proofreading work for HarperCollins Christian Publishing.

Whitney's areas of expertise include Christian fiction and nonfiction, travelogues, memoirs, self-help books, and literary fiction, which will always hold a special place in her heart. She loves to travel around the world with her husband and believes that her global experiences give her the advantage of an open mind and unique perspective when working with books and crafting new content. So far she has lived in the UK with plans to move to Singapore and a vacation to Columbia on the calendar. She is an adventure seeker and appreciates how shared experiences, such as reading the same great book or traveling somewhere new together, cultivate lasting memories.
